Our designers only plan the places they know from the inside: the island they grew up on, the city they moved to twenty years ago.
It starts with a conversation. If it feels right, your designer plans the trip with you.
Step 1 of 3, about a minute
Where are you drawn to?
Pick a place. We read every request ourselves.
Thank you, your request has arrived.
The designer we think fits your trip
Within 24 hours we'll get back to you with the designer we think fits your trip, and from there you'll have a first call with them, which is free and takes about half an hour, and a proposal only if you'd like one. You'll also find a summary in your inbox.
You learn a place by going back, season after season. Ours know it from the inside.
Lived, not researchedOne designer, one place. Lived, not studied.
Names, not suppliersThe healer in the hills, the family acetaia, the skipper. Contacts built over years.
Drawn from a blank pageNo catalog. Your trip exists once.

Destinations
Where do you want to go?
Pick a place and we introduce you to someone who knows it from the inside.
Pick a place on the map
We show you what our designers plan there.
The designers
Each one covers only the places they can answer for. Ask for whoever fits your trip.
Still wondering? Fair enough.
What does it actually cost?
The first conversation is free. If you then ask them to design the trip, you pay a planning fee for that work. The trip itself costs the normal rates, and nothing in it is chosen because a supplier pushed it.
What is a travel designer, exactly?
An independent professional who plans trips for a living and covers one or two places, not the whole world. Ours have lived there or go back several times a year. They pick the route, the rooms, the guides and the tables, and stay reachable while you travel.
Why not just book it myself?
For a weekend, do. The difference shows when the order of the days matters, when the good places are too small to be online, and when a ferry is cancelled and someone has to fix it.
How quickly will I hear back?
Within 24 hours, from a person. We say who we are introducing and why. Wrong fit? We introduce someone else.
A question before you send a request?
Ask anything: where to go and when, how the designers work, what it costs.
No script. A person reads it and answers, usually within a day.
A question before you apply?
Ask anything: how requests reach you, how the founding group works, what we ask of you.
No script. I read it myself and answer, usually within a day.

Founder of Sakè
She built Sakè to bring independent designers travelers who are a real fit for them, and she talks to every designer before they join.
She built Sakè to put travelers in the hands of designers who know a place from the inside, and she reads every message herself.

Who we are
Sakè Travel is a project currently run by Giulietta Camata as an individual, based in Milan, Italy, who is the data controller for the information you send through this site. A company is being set up: when it is, it will take over this role and this policy will be updated. For anything about your data, write to hellosake.travel@gmail.com.
What we collect
If you send a trip request: your first name, email, phone number if you give it, destination, dates, party size, departure city, budget, how you prefer to be contacted and anything you write to us, plus the page and the ad link that brought you to the site. If you apply as a travel designer: your name, email, phone, the places you know and a link to your work. We only need your name and a way to reach you to answer; everything else is up to you, and leaving it out only means we know less about your trip.
Why, and on what legal basis
We use your request to answer you and to introduce you to the designer who fits your trip, because you asked us to: the legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract (article 6.1.b GDPR). The same applies to designer applications. The site suggests a designer automatically from what you tell us, but a person checks every match before anyone contacts you. We do not sell your data. Only if you accept advertising cookies, we also use the Meta pixel to measure which of our ads on Facebook and Instagram bring visits and trip requests, and to show our ads to people more likely to be interested: here the legal basis is your consent (article 6.1.a GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. Counting visits without cookies, as described below, rests on our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used (article 6.1.f GDPR).
Who sees it
The Sakè team and, once you are introduced, the designer handling your request. From that moment the designer works with you directly and is responsible for the data they use to plan your trip. Our providers process data on our behalf under contract: Google for email and form storage, Netlify for hosting, Cloudflare for visit statistics. If you accept advertising cookies, Meta Platforms Ireland receives data about your visit and the steps you take on this site, such as sending a request and the destination you chose, but never your name, your contact details or what you write to us. For collecting and sending this data, Sakè and Meta are joint controllers; what Meta then does with it is described in its own privacy policy, at facebook.com/privacy/policy. Some providers may process data outside the European Union, under an adequacy decision such as the EU and US Data Privacy Framework or under the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.
How long we keep it
Requests and applications: two years from your last contact with us, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Your cookie choice: six months on your device, after which we ask again.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, and take it elsewhere. You can withdraw your consent to advertising cookies at any time, without affecting what was done before. Write to the address above and we answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, at garanteprivacy.it.
Cookies
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which stores nothing on your device and does not identify you. Advertising cookies are off by default. If you accept them, the Meta pixel loads and sets cookies, such as _fbp, to measure the results of our ads. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, the pixel never loads. You can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Adults only
Sakè is meant for adults planning their own trips. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to write to us.

Who runs this site
Sakè Travel is a project currently run by Giulietta Camata as an individual, based in Milan, Italy, while the company is being set up. Contact: hellosake.travel@gmail.com.
What Sakè does
Sakè introduces travelers to independent travel designers. We are an introduction service: the design work, the advice and the trip itself are provided by the designer you are introduced to, under their own terms.
What a request means
Sending a request costs nothing and commits you to nothing. The first conversation with a designer is free. If you then ask them to design your trip, they agree the planning fee and the terms of that work directly with you, in writing, before starting.
Bookings and payments
Sakè does not sell flights, hotels or packages and does not hold your money. Reservations are made by the designer or by the licensed operator they work with, and the contract for those services is with that party.
What we ask of you
Give us accurate information, including the dates, the number of travelers and the email and phone number we should answer on. Do not use this site to send unlawful or abusive content.
Travel documents and insurance
Passports, visas, vaccinations and travel insurance remain your responsibility. Your designer will tell you what is needed, but cannot obtain them for you.
Limits
We choose the designers we work with and talk to each of them before they join, but we are not liable for the services suppliers provide during your trip. Nothing here limits rights you have under Italian consumer law.
Law
These terms are governed by Italian law. For consumers, the courts of your place of residence also apply.
We would like to use Meta cookies to measure our ads and show them to people likely to be interested. If you decline, nothing loads. Privacy policy
